HNLite.net serves a vintage-computer-friendly version of Hacker News by implementing the following features:

• Delivers content over HTTP instead of HTTPS (note: this makes the site read-only - no voting or replying)
• Redirects external links through lite.surf proxy for lightweight browsing
• Built using HTML 2.0 standard (RFC 1866) for maximum compatibility
• Uses no CSS styling, relying on pure HTML elements
• Replaces common Unicode characters with ASCII equivalents for older systems

I've personally tested this site with Netscape Navigator 1.12 and Internet Explorer 3.01 on my 68k Mac.
